形態特徵

• A glabrous shrubs, deciduous, new leaves appearing with flowers; branchlet slender.
• Leaves simple, alternate, green above, glaucescent beneath, oblong-elliptic or elliptic, 1.8–4.3 cm long, 0.9–1.6 cm broad, papery to chartaceous, the lateral veins 7–11 on each side, veins raised on both surfaces, the apex obtuse, cuspidate at the tip, the base cuneate or acute, entire; petiole about 2 mm long; stipules lanceolate or linear, 2–3 mm long; cataphyll persistent, 2–2.5 mm long, scarious, fimbriate.
• Flowers in axillary fascicles, bisexual, 10–25 Staminate flowers and one (rare more) Pistillate flower per fascicle. Staminate flowers: sepals 5 (7), spreading, yellow, ovate to elliptic, the apex obtuse; stamens 4–5 (7), filaments free; disc 5 (7)-segmented, alternate with the stamens; pistillode absent; pedicel 3–5 mm long. Pistillate flowers: sepals 5, green or greenish-white, oblong-lanceolate, the apex acute; styles 3, spreading, sometimes reflexed; ovary oblong-ovate; disc annular or shallowly lobed; pedicel 3–5 mm long in fruit.
• Fruit a succulent berry, red to purplish-black, globose, 4–6 mm across, with about 4–5 seeds. Seeds trigonous, 2.5–3 mm long, surface smooth or near so.

• 台灣 : Endemic.
